 After 22 years ...
« Thread Started on Aug 1, 2005, 3:14pm »

I've done it. I have finally completed my "Super Friends" collection. All 47 issues. I started collecting it two years after the book was canceled and I finally got around to completing it. But damn, it's one of the only comics out there that has appreciated noticeably.

Let's celebrate!

Hey, Ed. Did you get the Limited Collector's Edition as well? It was produced during the first run of the show and features old JLA stories! It does have a really neat bit in the back by Alex Toth about the making of animation. I love it simply for the cover. I loved those when they came out and still do. But I'm more a fan of the Wendy and Marvin season than Zann and Jayna. E. Nelson Bridwell even put Wendy and Marvin into continuity and explaned why they were the "Jr. Justice Leaguers".

Wes, I do indeed have it! I've been a proud owner of that since 1984! (That was a relatively early find ...) And yes, the cover is great. I still remember Wendy and Marvin's origins, and their full names are Wendy Harris and Marvin White. I've talked to a lot of people and there is a real fondess for Wendy and Marvin, I hope they someday come out on DVD. Another cool thing they did in the Super Friends comic was introduce the Wonder Twins in the summer of 1977, and have their story overlap with Wendy and Marvin's for a story. When that story was completed in September of 1977 and Wendy and Marvin were written out, the cartoon series introduced the Wonder Twins and those lucky enough to have read the comic knew exactly where they came from. neat gimmick.

Congrats on completing your run. I know how hard it is to find certain titles. My complete run of unused Marvel Fun and Games is very hard to find. Most of the copies I find have the puzzles completed already. But I keep on searching.
